Here are some of my most recent watches.
If you've seen this movie, then you probably know what I'm going to say. This movie is unreal. Unimaginably original, Everything Everywhere All at Once follow Evelyn, a small business owner whose attempt to file taxes leads her on a quest to save the multiverse from an interdimensional being, Jobu Tupaki, while trying to reconnect with her rebellious daughter, Joy. Under the glorious direction of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Evelyn finds herself being flung between dimensions, where she inhabits difference characteristics in each one, ranging from being an opera singing, martial artist, of having hotdog hands. This genre-bending masterpiece is a beautiful bastardization of a fantasy, action, black comedy, science fiction, and leaves you wanting more. With most of the movie occurring in a laundromat or IRS office building, it makes it even more impressive that Daniels could craft a visually appealing movie with artistic settings and creative storylines. With stellar production design by Jason Kisvarday and insane editing by Paul Rogers, this movie will find itself littered in award nominations.
